El estreno de Rogue One, spin off o desprendimiento de la saga de La guerra de las galaxias, parece confirmar que el universo ficcional creado por George Lucas hace 40 años no tiene nada nuevo para ofrecer. Ya se había visto en El despertar de la fuerza: en lugar de expandir o enriquecer ese mundo fantástico, la nueva trilogía se conforma con canibalizarlo. Se trata más de un ejercicio de nostalgia que de una estrategia narrativa, y el resultado no deja de ser triste: la maravillosa telenovela espacial ha perdido su encanto para transformarse, acaso definitivamente, en apenas un objeto de consumo.
